Four TAG Group employees successfully completed the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 Business Peloton, a 100-mile cycle race through London and Surrey which follows a similar route to that of the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Races. The team cycled to raise awareness of TAG Farnborough Airport’s Sustainable Travel Plan, which encourages staff to use alternative travel modes to work as part of a wider commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Miles Thomas, TAG Farnborough Airport’s Environment Manager, said: “We are proud to be part of such a successful event. Each member of the TAG Group team used their daily commute to train for the event, supporting our commitment to sustainable staff travel and reducing carbon emissions.”
The airport’s Sustainable Travel Plans is designed to reduce the number of single occupancy car journeys for staff commuting. It promotes walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing as alternatives, incentivising these modes through a token reward scheme and periodic special events.
Sustainable travel planning is one of the many facets of the wider Airport Carbon Accreditation programme to which TAG Farnborough Airport has committed to reach the top level of “carbon neutrality” by 2019.
