Twilight Runway Challenge 2013
3rd July 2013 by Farnborough Airport
On Saturday 29 June 2013 almost 150 participants took part in the Twilight Runway Challenge at TAG Farnborough Airport. Participants were invited to run, walk, skate or cycle down the runway and taxiways at the airport over a distance of either 3, 5 or 10 kilometres. The event organised by TAG Farnborough and the Sixth Form College, Farnborough was the second of its kind, the first being held last year at Farnborough.
Each individual (over 16) paid £20 and £10 for under 16’s to enter the challenge and all proceeds are going to the Gaming Zone, an innovative social enterprise that provides free, open-access facilities and support for children and young people through Rushmoor.
Elaine Turner, Events & Marketing Manager at TAG Farnborough Airport said “The second annual Twilight Runway Challenge was a great success and this year we were happy to welcome cyclists to the event. It was very encouraging to see so many people giving up their time on a sunny Saturday evening to run and cycle down a runway for charity”.
