The Twilight Runway Challengers 2014 lowres

On Saturday 21 June 2014, TAG Farnborough Airport and Farnborough Sixth Form College organised the 3rd annual Twilight Runway Challenge, a unique fun run across the airport’s runway, in support of the Community Matters Partnership Project (CMPP) in Rushmoor. To date, over £3,000 has been raised to support the Gaming Zone, an innovative social enterprise that provides free, open-access facilities and support for children and young people throughout the borough of Rushmoor.

More than 170 runners, cyclists and skaters made up of Farnborough Sixth Form College students and staff as well as employees from TAG Farnborough Airport and other local businesses, took part in a three, five or ten kilometre course around the airfield at 8.30 p.m., after operations ceased for the day.

Elaine Turner, Events & Marketing Manager at TAG Farnborough Airport, said: “The third annual Twilight Runway Challenge was a great success and we are proud to host such a unique and exciting event, which brings together the people of Farnborough to raise money for our CMPP charity.”
